I'm taking 15 to 18 people to dinner for my mother's 80th birthday in New York City, preferably Manhattan. I moved away years ago and need help finding a place.
The group ranges in age from 9 to 80, with a few over 75. They will be comfortable with something fairly traditional - Italian, bistro fare or otherwise not too exotic or spicy.
Shouldn't be too hip or what my older relatives would call "too fancy schmancy" and I hope to keep the cost reasonable. A private room would be a plus, but not a must.
Suggestions? PLEASE HELP!!!
