New Grand Sichuan

I saw that new branch of Grand Sichuan International today when I went to my chiropractor and stopped in for lunch. I'm pretty excited, because the neighborhood is deathly lacking in good food. It's called Grand Sichuan Eastern (1049 2nd Ave, between 55th & 56th, 212-355-5855/985/1589), the woman told me it's been open two weeks and didn't know if it was related to the other ones. However, they have the same menu format, where they have a whole other pamphlet explaining each dish in great detail. I'm reasonably sure it's the same place. I had the wontons in red oil, which were stellar, and shredded pumpkin with spicy green pepper, which was very good, but too much textural sameness for one person. It would have been better as a shared dish among a few.
