Gran Lux Restraunt now open at Sawgrass

I just ate at the Gran Lux last night, was quit pricey but every thing was excellent. It is located in a new high scale section that they are adding onto the Sawgrass Mall.

The restraunt is a sister to Cheese Cake Factory. The beer selection was very sparse I had a Stella Artois (A Belgin Lager) that was one of three draft selctions they offered.

I didn't try an aptizer as they bring a crusty sour dough bread to munch on. For my meal I tried a dish they called Shaking Beef which is a filet in a mildy spicy asian sauce with red and green onion, served with a generous portion of steamed rice, and it comes with a very good lime dipping sauce. The steak was excellent, It was cut in chunks and was really tender and cooked just right. The sauce it was cooked in was really tasty as well.

The coolest thing about this restraunt is there deserts! They are fresh baked to order, they say to order with your dinner as they take a half hour to make. I sampled the begnets, I never had a chance to go to New Orleans so I do not how these stack up against Cafe Du Mond's...but I will say these were out of this world. They came to the table hot sprinkled with powered sugar and comes with three warm dipping sauces A white chocolate bourbon sauce, a chocolate sauce, and a rasberry sauce (very tart).

All in all was a really great experience but like I said was quit a bit pricey but was defintley better IMHO then Cheese Cake Factory. I would go back just for the desert =)
