My husband is taking me out for a birthday dinner to Gramercy Tavern. I've noticed many Chowhound posts about nice restaurants discuss the seating, since sometimes (such as at Jean Georges) being stuck in a bad area can really affect the experience as far as atmosphere and service. I don't care about getting the best table, I just don't want to be stuck in a really bad area, if one exists. Is any section at Gramercy Tavern really bad or noisy? Any section more comfortable, pleasant and cozy? I'd like to make a request in advance, if possible. Also, has anybody had the vegetarian tasting menu there? How was it?
