It's my first time to eat in Inagiku. They had 4 selections for appetizers and entrees. We all ordered SPicy tuna tartare as apps and it was good but, nothing spectacular. For entrees, it was a choice of sirloin that you will cook in stone (good) and exciting. An eel and rice dish, a sushi platter with a good amount of sushi almost good for two people and a mixed tempura dish. Dessert was a pretty blah tofu cheesecake with black beans. But, I was not expecting much when it comes to desserts in Japanese places. Only Sakagura and Tomoe seem to make decent ones. All in all a fairly nice meal for the discounted price. It was no Yasuda but, good food and service and we were not kicked out of our 7pm table that we hogged till 11pm...closing time!
Gramercy had more choices. Something like 6 choices for all categories. Thank God that I have another reservation next week. We had the crispy squid and fluke crudo for the apps and both we're good. Our entrees, braised beef and roasted leg of lamb were excellent too. The highlight of the meal though was the peanut butter dessert with a caramel like sauce with roasted peanuts...I'm going to order that again next week!Plus, great wines available in 3 oz tasting portions. The waiters never really just give you 3 oz as I usually go home too happy after every meal there. Definitely still my favorite place for restaurant week! But, no free gift certificate this year. But, got one from Tabla when I had RW lunch there the other day and that will suffice. Lunch there was good too but, some dishes were just a tad over seasoned. But, I prefer that to being bland. Desserts were nothing great though.
