Graduation dinner

I'm graduating soon, and I've been charged with finding a restaurant my family will enjoy, a Sisyphean task since my mother's family is coming up from Mexico and my father's family thinks a little paprika may be too much spice (dramatization sure but you get the point).

Do you have any suggestions of places I can go where my very picky Grandpa from Cuernavaca will enjoy himself and my Bubbe from Boston doesn't get heartburn?

S.E. Asian is out, as well as Japanese

Italian/French/American is not preferred.

I've tended to look as Cuban/Puerto Rican/Dominican places (Because they seem to have simple meat dishes, but also salsas with beans and rice and the like)

About 20 people will eat

Not too expensive, about $70 a person is the upper limit.

Anywhere in the City (I'm also looking at Brooklyn, where I live)

Any recommendation would be much appreciated!
