HELP!! Graduation dinner for 14?!?!

lil-j | May 15, 2006 06:02 PM

My crazy family and friends are traveling from NYC for my law school graduation, and we need a comfortable place (2 grandmas, antsy dad) for a Thursday night dinner in Cambridge-Somerville area. We're not rich, but we wanted a cut above Changsho (which is our fallback) and a cut (or two) below Rialto. It can't be too noisy (grandmas again) but we are a chatty bunch (i.e. noplace where we'd drive everyone else nuts). Some people are chowhound types, but the grandmas will want chicken or something analogous (i.e. not "spicy"--the proxy for anything unfamiliar). My mom loves red meat, my friends love vegetables, and...we can't go for Italian b/c we are having it the following night. Someplace that feels a little "event-y" might be nice, though with all these complications that may be too much to ask. Private rooms wouldn't be out of the question, either.

Thank you for ANY help...
