There's a specialty food shop in Sierra Madre that I found a while ago and have loved ever since. It's called Savor the Flavor, and it's off of Baldwin, just north of Sierra Madre Ave on a very short piece of road called Kersting Ct.

I'm not sure how to describe it other than "homey", "warm", and "pretty". (Yes, it's a tad girly.) It has shelves stocked with unusual varieties of gourmet mustards (raspberry honey!), pestos (walnut sage!), and little cookies in decorative boxes among many other snack delights. I even found one of my fav vices: clotted cream! The place makes me positively giddy. The people who run the shop are amiable and helpful, lending to that personal, smalltown feel. They offer free samples and even complimentary gift wrapping.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys gourmet treats or who has friends of that persuasion. It's also a nice place for those who would enjoy just being surrounded by such pretty edibles.
