Gourmet Seafood, Chinatown - Spicy Green Beans

Bob Geary | Feb 1, 2005 09:20 AM

Gourmet Seafood is downstairs from the Chinatown Eatery on Beach St, in the old Pacific Garden spot. I've enjoyed everything I've had there, and very much enjoyed everything deep-fried I've had there. (In this respect they resemble the late lamented PG)

But the Spicy Green Beans with Minced Pork were extra-wonderful - a good sear on tender-but-still-a-little-crunchy green beans, not overly sauced, spicy bits of pork (I'd like it a little spicier, but I'd like almost everything a little spicier) - it was the surprise hit of the table, and one of my new favorite dishes in Chinatown. (Who knew, there's good stuff hiding in that "Vegetables" section?)
