As a promotion during December, Gorikee has a Maine lobster special that sounds like quite a deal. Here's what you get: lobster and seaweed cocktail with ginger vinaigrette (sic) AND lobster salad with aged balsamic reduction AND lobster potsticker with miso mayonnaise and cilantro pesto, then garlic lobster bisque, then lobster medallion with white truffle sauce, then yuzu sherbet. Price = $42.50, but if 2 people order it it's $69.98, or $34.99 each.
We were there for lunch yesterday (split the burger, more than we could consume) and tried the lobster bisque. It was absoutely delicious, rich with the flavor of roasted lobster bodies, thick with cream and with a large morsel of meat. Almost a meal in itself. Incidently, the roasted red bell pepper and leek soup was delicious as well. Each of the items on the lobster menu is available seperately.
For every lobster dinner you order you are entered into a drawing for 3 gift certificates ($100, $75 and $50) good at the restaurant. This makes me think that they may be having a hard time. Also, Patrick was going out to "rustle up some business" by handing out menus at some unspecified location. They have hired a new waiter, Ted, however, so maybe things aren't as bad as I fear. Only one other couple for lunch from 11:30 to 12:45.
