Gooseneck Barnacles in Manhattan

Pat Hammond | Jan 11, 2002 04:42 PM

On the Bay Area board they're having a barnacle discussion. Why should they have all the fun? The last time I was in NYC a couple of months ago, I had a conversation with the fish guy at Wild Edibles. He allowed as how they were the only source for gooseneck barnacles in Manhattan. He can special order them, but he told me they're expensive. I intend to find out more on my next trip, like *how* expensive. Unfortunately, I was between trains at GCT, the last time, and really didn't have much time. I wonder, for instance, if they come already cooked. Does anyone know? Pat
