Good Restaurant for a Dinner Meeting?

Hey there,

Our writers' organization's board typically gets together once a year for a dinner meeting. We've done it at Hugo's in West Hollywood for the last couple of years, but the place seems to have changed a lot. There was almost nothing on last night's menu that was remotely interesting, and my whitefish piccata came out with cool potatoes and vegetables--not to mention some inedible caper mixture slathered on top of it (I kept picturing Gordon Ramsay dumping it off amid a profanity-strrewn tirade), and when I sent it back, the vegetables came back cool again. When they finally came back hot, they were steamed and completely tasteless. It ruined my whole evening.

The only reason we really go there is because they have a private room and it's centrally located. Does anyone have suggestions for a venue with better food that might still be good for a meeting in terms of privacy and location?
