We just moved up to Riverdale from the city (i.e. Manhattan) -- we were hoping to find at least one DECENT italian place we could walk to.
A place called Beccofinno just opened a few months ago on Mosholu (btwn Broadway and Fieldston).
Not just decent, superb!!!
We've been there twice now and we've only been here a week and a half.
Decent wine list that isn't super expensive.
The steamed muscles in a Chardonnay sauce is superb.
Their entrees are decently priced and *VERY* yummy. The sauces they all come in a tasty, molto tasty.
I'd say they are a step or two up from being just a simple red-sauce italian place, but not super super fancy italian either. Small, only 12 tables.
The manager, Mary Beth, is a hoot. She will come and jaw with you during dinner.
check this place out.
