The thread on the lamented Spaghetti Factory got me to thinking, what are your favorite old-fashioned, chianti bottle, red-checked tablecloth Italian places? (Not Buca di Beppo, please, it has to be old). Is Bruno's in Mar Vista still there? Used to love it as a kid. I still have a big soft spot for Pinocchio's in Burbank. When I was in college I ate at the Santa Monica one at least three times a week, at $1.75 per dinner. Those were the days. Is Anna Maria's still good? Where can you get a decent veal scallopine or great garlic bread?
