Went for Ethiopian tonight at a place on Washington called Fassica. It was nothing special. Fairly bland, no depth to the spicing blend, not spicy (hot) at all. And a green lettuce salad on the side... hmmm... not very Ethiopian, to my (limited) knowledge. The injira bread was ok - you know, the typical that i am sure most restaurants in the city purchase.
We're vegetarian, so are looking for the Ethiopian resto with a delicious, spicy, interesting vegetarian combo platter. We love SPICY and varied! In the past, we frequented a place (in Toronto, called Chef Wondiy) that had a mind-blowing combo: yellow lentils, red lentils, collardgreens, beets/cabbage mixture and a brown lentil mixture. - sorry i do not know the proper names for the dishes - but all of them tasted VERY VERY different from one another and were so exciting to the palette to go from one to another.
We're coming from Venice, so locations that are not depressingly far would be awesome.
