I'm a former San Franciscan 'hound now living in Bologna. I had to pack light to get here, and now, alas, I only brought 1 cookbook. Marcella Hazan's great, but I'm needing more...however, I need cookbooks that are more geared to Italian/euro ingredients--with weights in grams, oven temps in Celsius, and no things like baking soda (do they even sell this in Italy? where? and why is there vanilla flavoring in the baking powder, but no vanilla extract?), brown sugar, and molasses that don't exist here. Any advice? I'm up for all kinds of cooking--Italian, of course, French, Spanish, Moroccan, Asian, Indian...I guess I'm looking for good British-published cookbooks or Italian cookbooks in Italian (I can read a bit). Thanks!
