Two good beef samiches

Stopped by Taste Chicago and had a hot italian beef with hot peppers. The place was empty and I got that feeling like, "oh no, it's not going to be very good." But it was really good. Large portion of hot sliced beef, very juicy and complimented with the hot pepper mix (olives etc). The roll was thick and fresh and held up well to all the juice and weight of the beef. It's around 7 bucks. I also had a small bowl of their pasta with cheese sauce which was delicious. I can't say how it stacks up to the real chicago but it was darn tasty. Will go back and try some of the other things and the frozen custard.

Last week I happened to drive by The Dip in Sherman Oaks and stopped for a pot roast dip. It was huge and the meat was very moist and tasty, pretty much good enough to eat without anything else on it. I've heard mixed things about this place and have only tried the pot roast, but it was a nice big tasty meal. They have Beaver mustards to add on if you want. The macaroni salad side was boring and blah. Pot roast was about $5.50.
