GOOD arepas

Iron Frank | Apr 29, 2002 12:12 AM

I finally got around to trying the Arepas with fried eggs and Queso Blanco at GOOD on Greenwich Ave. They were smaller than I'd imagined but super-filling. Very nice and full-on corn flavor stuffed with Queso blanco(are most arepas cheese stuffed? I have only had them once before at the No Idea get together) They've got a lot of nice side-order options there that separate this place from your average boring brunch. I had a blackberry-banana batido which was too-sweet but I appreciated being there. As a non-alchohol drinker any choices beyond juice and coffee at brunch is refreshing to me. Also appealing were the sour-cream orange donuts and Faicco's chicken sausage.

Lots of options left to try here. Service was kind of STOOPID though, with an overzealous busboy trying to snatch away the plates at every opportunity and keeping my caffeine meter on FULL along with an MIA waiter.
Overall it's my new favorite brunch place in the immediate neighborhood.
