Goldberg's NY-style deli / Factoria (SEA)

Country | May 6, 200501:12 AM

I went there this evening, hearing about the grand opening of May 3 on the radio. This is supposed to be a real New York deli with all of the great Jewish food etc.

First I called them and the phone system was not working. As it's May 5 and the Grand Opening was May 3, I figured it would be fine to give this place a try. Wrong.

The restaurant is in the Factoria Mall. At the entrance a girl sat slouched in a chair, uninterested and slightly rude (unapologetic) she says the wait is 45 minutes. At least 80% of the restaurant was EMPTY as I could look in the window, and there are tables in the mall that were all empty. I asked her about the empty tables, wondering what's going on, she says they don't have enough wait staff. Jeeze what a lousy way to start a business. I took a menu and the food looks great on paper but we'll see if the management can follow through.
