Glaum Egg Vending Machine and Dancing Chicken Show (Aptos)

Melanie Wong | Nov 3, 201108:59 PM     4

One of the more entertaining visits was a stop at the Glaum Egg Ranch in Aptos to use the famous automated egg vending machine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/melaniew...

Insert three crisp $1 bills, and out pops a flat of 24 white, cage-free eggs. Not labeled, these looked like the extra large Glaum eggs we buy at Grocery Outlet for $1.99 per dozen so there is a discount by buying direct. And then the curtain opens and the dancing chicken robots put on a little show. Often decked out in holiday themes, here’s a youtube of the St Patrick’s Day show.

The egg vending machine is open everyday from 8 am - 7pm. The other Glaum eggs (brown, organic, etc.) are available from a clerk at the sales window from 8-4 M-F and Sat 8-10:30am.
