This is my first review of a restaurant but I am always on this site and because I see this place talked about a lot on here I finally went. I am so happy I did!
We went last night without reservations and were seated right away. We started off with a bottle of Syrah. The Syrah was smooth and silky-very easy to drink. The waitress informed us that on Sundays every bottle is $15 dollars off so that made our night right away!
We began with the calamari and vegetable fritti. The calamari was so delicate it literally melted in my mouth. Amazing.
For entrees I had the Filet Mignon. The port wine sauce it came with matched the tender filet perfectly. Now I am not a big fan of potatoes but the potatos au gratin it came with were so good that I finished all of them.
My boyfriend had the Maine Lobster Linguini. Many time when you order something like this they skimp on the lobster and give more shrimp but not here. There were huge chunks of lobster meat throughout the entire dish. The tomato sauce it came with was very spicy (to spicy for me) but he loved it.
For dessert we shared S'mores bread pudding which our waitress recommended. It was definently decadent. Not the best dessert I've ever had but it hit the spot.
Some extras that made the night even nicer- during the meal one of the waiters saw what wine we had ordered and came over and gave us a little background information on it. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. We were there for at least an hour and a half and I think only one table had left but the time we were leaving. Most people were still sitting and enjoying the wine and atmosphere. If we didn't have to get home I would also have enjoyed just sitting there and relaxing. It was truly one of the most perfect dinners out I have had in a long time.
So just wanted to say thank you to all of you who recommended this place. I live only 2 blocks away from it so we are already talking about going back next Sunday for dinner! Thank you chowhounders!
