A friend just asked me if I knew what a fruit her boyfriend brought back from Germany is. I was clueless and thought one of you might know. She has eaten them so I can't post a photo. She said it was used as a garnish on a plate. Small with a papery husk like a tomatillo but about the size of a cherry tomato. It was gold in color and full of little seeds and a bit tart. Is this a variety of persimmon?
