i'm writing to add to the press's praise of il laboratorio del gelato. this is the closest i have found to real italian gelato in new york. creamy, smooth, not cloyingly sweet. all i had was the vanilla, so i don't know about the other flavors, but if the texture is consistent, they must all be pretty good. (and the texture is, of course, half the fun of ice cream).
and at $2.75/cone, the price is reasonable, at least compared to those $5 scoops of ciao bella in nolita.
