Garn Gusto, Cambridge for lunch

RoyRon | Jan 28, 2008 10:38 AM

A freind and I tried Gran Gusto last we3ek for lunch. Based on other posts on this board we decided to split a pizza Margherita for a starter. It was wonderful and and one of the best pizzas I have had in a long time. Perfectly cooked in their wood-fired oven with a light tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella. For the main course I had a pasta dish that was very thinly sliced zucchini with small clams. The pasta was obviously made on the premises and was a very chewy corkscrew type which blended very well with dish. The zucchini had been sauteed with olive oil and perhaps some butter and then tossed with the pasta and parmesan cheese. There were are 10 small perfectly cooked small clams placed around the edge os the dish. It was unusual and very tasty. My friend had the gnocchi baked in a very nice tomato sauce topped with cheese. he declared this dish to be excellent too. One sign of a good restaurant to me is when I look at the menu and see at least 5 dishes that I would like to try. We checked out the dinner menu too and now I can't wait to get back there and try it again.
