Galveston, the short course

Going to Galveston for a weekend. I went back about one year on this board and these are my selected highlights. With a rambunctious three-year-old, we will not be bothering to seek out any "fine dining," just good chow. All restaurants below have had positive reviews, I am just wondering if my impressions as distilled here are accurate.

The Spot for burgers/dogs, good fried shrimp.
Shrimp and Stuff for Louisiana-style fried goods, poboys, print the coupon on their menu at
Donut Shoppe for breakfast tacos.
Benno's: ocean view, kidfriendly.

Not exactly cheap:
Mosquito Cafe: a little nouvelle if I may. Good breakfast, kidfriendly. Watch out for the seniors bus.
Saltwater Grill: big portions.
Casey's: kind of like Gaido's, more casual, about as good.
Rudy and Paco's: Central/Latin American, tablecloths and wine.
DiBella's -- oldschool Jersey Italian, cash only.

One poster mentioned Stingaree on Bolivar Isaland: "very good and casual atmosphere with excellent seafood dishes, all made from scratch." If it's so good how come only one mention in a year?

Another poster mentioned Leon's In and Out Barbecue. Anyone?
