The post below about blueberries got me thinking. Lately the pinneapples I buy, Golden from Hawaii, don't seem to ever rot ...are they irradiated possibly??? I try to core,peel,and either eat or freeze them right away. But when I forget and they are in the fridge , Whole, for a week, they havent rotted/started that fermented taste as I expect, they just seem to dehydrate. I had one which was cut in half and then forgotton for 2 weeks when we went away on vacation, and yet there was no brown areas of the flesh, it was yellow.
I am thinking this might mean they are irradiated, I know most papayas now are.
Should I just ask Dole???
