I have been buying wild Sockeye salmom from the local Whole Foods. The fish comes in packets of about 6 fillets. Often, the taste and smell is mild and lovely. Othertimes, the fish smells somewhat strong and salty (not necessarily bad). The taste will also be a lot richer and more intense. I used to chuck such fillets out (and panic) but it happens so often i am wondering if it maybe jus ta natural variance in the fish? Is this something people experience a lot? Or are they indeed bad?
If i was not buying the multi-packs i would be more inclined to assume that a fish has been left to thaw before hitting the freezers again in the supermarket (or something to that effect). Now i dont know?
