Fromin's Deli - Encino - Worth another try?

rockhead | Aug 29, 200511:27 PM

Years ago, we used to frequent Fromin's in Encino for family get togethers. We'd always order the Complete Dinners - everything from appetizer to dessert for about ten bucks. The food was always marginal to good (on a good night) and sometimes pretty bad.

After many lousy meals there, we stopped going. I hadn't been there for years but was in the neighborhood tonight and thought I'd give it another try. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the brisket dinner and it was very tasty. Served with decent Matzo Ball Soup and good Potato Pancakes. I've avoided this place like the plague for the last several years, but I'll give it another try sometime.

What are your experiences with Fromin's? It certainly is no Brent's, and can be terribly inconsistent, but I guess I hit it on a good night.
