I've got to give a heads up if you find yourself in "South County" area (Southern Anne Arundel Co) near North Beach/ Chesapeake Beach. If you take RT 261 off RT 2 S, heading towards the bay there's a newish restaurant on the right called Friendship Bistro. Really relaxed, so so reasonable, a nice wine list with prices that will make you smile. It's a place to go, chill out and just get a really great meal. If you go try the fried green beans...I crave them.
If you are looking for a more upscale place there's the Westlawn Inn in North Beach Md. (Northern Calvert County) It has blown us away a many times. Absolutely rivals anything in town but in an atmosphere that will quickly take you out of the city, 2 blocks from the Bay. John Kozik (formerly with Kinkeads) is the head chef. I order the fish special almost every time.
Great day trip to go to North Beach, do a little antiquing, get a cappucino at Sweet Sues, walk the boardwalk and then go to Freindship Bistro or walk to Westlawn.
