fried turkey in rendered duck fat?

Has anyone tried frying a turkey in rendered duck fat or a combination of oil and fat? I've had Michael Mina's fried Jidori Chicken and it was amazing. I'm thinking that using the same technique on a turkey might work. Before I drop $50 a gallon on the duck fat, I was wondering if anyone has done it and whether or not there was a noticeable flavor difference vs. just using oil.
