Fried Chicken in DC area

johnb | Jul 7, 2004 11:58 AM

The Post Food Section today, in an article and accompanying listing, highlights three places in the DC area for good fried chicken: Flavors, Pollo Campero, and Horace and Dickies.

Can anyone add to the list? What is/are your favorate chicken places (fried or otherwise). What do you think of the three mentioned?

My comments on the three are:

Flavors: I've been there once. OK but IMO nothing so special as the article seems to suggest. A bit dry in my recollection.

Pollo Campero: If anyone follows my posts they know I like this place a lot. Not traditional southern fried chicken, but good.

Horace & Dickies: Who knew? Thay are known for their fish; I never even considered trying the chicken. Have to do that sometime.

The list also mentions places as diverse as Popeye's at the Atlanta airport, and the Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May. Anybody tried the Chalfonte? Is it worth the drive?
