A nice group of Chowhounds and I were enjoying lunch in OC at our weekly fri haunte,THE GOLDEN TRUFFLE. When all of a sudden my Cell starts vibrating, it's another local CH who's in SF at SWANN'S enjoying some of the best Seafood(especially Oysters) on the Planet. He's trying to torment me by discussing all the different wonderful courses he's having, but were prepared! Our basic lunch fortunately consisted of : Scallop Sashimi with peach ponzu, Spicy Ahi Stack w/Butter fish/Avocado, Elk marinated in vinegar and spice on a gorda, Braised Lamb Cheeks w/marpiox, Pork Knuckle braised in 7 flavors, Yuzu homemade icecream w/choc wafer, what a close call! We expect next time he'll think twice about disturbing us, during feeding time.
