You guys are amazing - after reading every post possible on Sanibel/Captiva, my family and I have had some fantastic meals, and just as importantly, seem to have avoided some real tourist traps.
I'm going to post a whole report, but I have one question.
We would like one meal, fresh seafood, seasonal ingredients. Can spend money but don't need to.
So far, we've ruled OUT:
TImbers (farm raised stuff apparently)
Thistle Lodge (seems like everything gets jasmine rice and sauteed veges, not the kind of seasonal attention to detail we're after)
Mad Hatter (too pricey, we're not against spending but don't want to feel cheated)
We're after good fresh seafood, local preparations, something we can't necessarily get elsewhere.
If we can't decide we might just go back to Doc Fords.
