fresh rosemary --- freeze or...?

I'm rarely able to get my hands on the stuff but recently came into a big pile of it over the wknd. Froze a few whole leaves and they *look* OK after a few days but will the flavor hold up long-term? A friend suggested freezing it chopped in butter but rarely do my rosemary recipes call for other than EVOO ... Suggestions?
