I've always been apprehensive to buy fresh fish in Chinatown, namely because I don't know where it comes from (not all fish shows place of birth) and of the quality control - if there is such a thing... Anyway, I must say however that on my last visit to Oriental Harvest on Spadina, just north of Dundas (west side), the red snapper and grouper looked really good, and the prices were amazing. It's easy to find great fish at the expensive joints in the city, but I'm looking for good price as well. Any recommendations (or not) for the fresh fish mongers in Chinatown, and if so, why and where... Thanks.
