Fresh Cheddar Cheese Curds... available in LA?

Das Ubergeek | Jan 2, 200609:56 AM

Okay, so I went to Montréal to get my poutine fix. (Yes, I know, cardiologist's nightmare, hearing arteries clamping shut, not twenty years old anymore, etc.)

While I was up there I stopped at a grocery store and bought some packets of St.-Hubert poutine sauce, the standard-issue poutine sauce used even in uppity establishments that probably shouldn't be serving poutine anyway.

Got home, went to the store to get steak fries to make into poutine, and went OH DAMN THE CHEESE CURDS. Ralphs doesn't sell cheese curds. Jons doesn't sell cheese curds. Artisan Cheese Gallery might, but they're closed for the holiday.

So, where do I get the very freshest cheddar cheese curds? I'd prefer to buy them the same day they're made (so I can hear the "poutine squeak"). I am in Valley Glen (er, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, that area) but am willing to travel anywhere in LA, Orange or Ventura counties.
