The advice about French Laundry wine all seems over 10 years old on Chowhound...

I have reservations for 4, and I'm trying to figure out what to do about wine.

I have some fancy bottles languishing undrunk at home, which makes paying corkage more attractive, but they've raised the corkage fee to $150, which is a shock... of course so are the prices they charge for the bottles I have... $300 and $500 approximately... I'm presuming i could bring a bottle with a label they have if the vintage is different...?

I probably am not going to go again, so i want the experience to be maximized without breaking the bank (like most people..) I imagine it would be nice just sitting back and letting the Sommelier decide, but i'm anxious about the price; the wine list is daunting in that regard.

What do you suggest?
