French fries star; what else on menu?

Hi all, I am making french fries on the weekend (which I only do about once a year) for a party of 10-12. We don't have enough room for everyone to sit at the table so it's a pretty informal party. Think I will have three bowls of fries - one tossed with crushed garlic, one plain salt, and one with hot pepper. Dips - mayo, ketchup, thousand island.

Any ideas what else I could serve that would add some colour and not make the meal too heavy to enjoy? I have two gas burners, one of which i need to dedicate to the fries, a toaster oven (ie not big enough to prepare a main course for 12), and a crock pot. I served meatballs to many of the same people recently so wanted something different this time. And the fries are last minute labour intensive so nothing else should be. The only thing I am thinking that would work are hot dogs and slaw. Any other brilliant ideas?
