freezing stuffed peppers-blanching

Since peppers are so abundant now I want to stuff them and freeze. When I make stuffed peppers to eat that day I don't normally blanch them. I just stuff them raw and then bake. But since they are going in the freezer, do they need blanched. Thanks.
