Stopped for lunch at the Freeport Tavern on Morrisey Blvd. over the weekend and while definitely not destination dining, they made a pretty decent steak and cheese. The bartender was telling me that they are doing away with the separate dining room, which will become a function room and the lounge area will be the restaurant. They have also added a wood grill oven and have changed their menu to include wood grill pizzas. My experience in the past has been good and bad. At one point, I had a really nicely done baked stuffed lobster, but on a return visit my seafood pasta dish was horrid; sticky pasta with a gloppy sauce. I'm hoping these changes put them back on the right track. The room itself is quite pleasant and cozy with a fireplace. Has anyone else been lately? I'm curious about the pizzas!
