Made in France/Village Imports in Brisbane?

Carb Lover | Dec 8, 200407:04 PM     13

Part info and part question: SJ Mercury had an article about MIF/VI in their food section today (see link). It's a big warehouse filled w/ genuine French foodstuffs. The catch is that it's only open to the public 8-10 times a year! Make them hunger, and they will be ravenous, I guess. Place sounds really great for unique products and general ambiance. Public sale will be on 12/17 (3-7pm) and 12/18 (8:30-3:30).

Would love to hear from other hounds who may have been to one of their previous sales. What's been your experience w/ this place? Is it worth making a pilgrimage to?? Sounds like the items are generally pricey (realize this IS NOT a discount warehouse), so what are people's favorite items to buy that you consider to be a good deal? I would probably go on Sat. so is there a less frenzied time to go than others? Any other shopping strategies would be appreciated! THANKS!

BTW, food section articles in this paper were more interesting than usual today...
