France Trip Report - Paris/Provence (St Remy/Luberon)

atojbk | Sep 21, 201511:23 AM     9

Paris -
Lunch - Kebab - random kebab spot near Gare de Lyon - always a good choice
Dinner - Restaurant AG - Good, solid food. Would recommend and return. Had the 40 Euro menu, the chocolate dessert was amazing, although it looked like dog food.

St Remy -
Lunch - la fontaine - didn't feel like going very far. was decent but nothing special.
Dinner - Mas Du Capoun - amazing atmosphere and a must in my opinion. The oeuf starter was the best I had all trip. Amazing meal overall.

Lunch - Le Bistrot du Paradou - best meal all trip 1000%. Lamb chops with mushrooms/mash was outstanding and my type of comfort food. Best entree of the trip. Highly recommend even though it was just bistro food.
Dinner - Gus Restaurant - had very good seafood but after eating at such a high at Paradou, it was tough to compare. Still recommend

Lunch - St Remy Market - picked up a bunch of goodies, loved the market!

Luberon -
Dinner - Cafe Le Terrail - great value but the food just didn't cut it for me. Nothing else was really opened and I messed up on the days I made reservations for other restaurants :( Worst meal of the trip, wouldn't recommend. Nice terrace though

Lunch - Cesar Restaurant - great meal here. The wild boar entree was fantastic. Owner thinking about opening a restaurant in NYC. Hope it happens!
Dinner - La Bergie (Le Bastide) - Went for drinks on the terrace @ Le Bastide Du Capenlongue (well worth) and had dinner at the casual restaurant across. Had a very good meal, although a bit pricey but still had good flavor and everything as well cooked. Had tomato soup and duck. The atmosphere is very relaxed and my type of place.

Lunch - Market day at Bonnieux - picked up poulet & other goodies and had lunch at your B&B Le Clos Du Buis.
Dinner - L'Arome - loved the cave atmosphere and the food was solid and good. I personally liked the food in St Remy actually. Scallops were the standout dish.

Paris -
Dinner - Au Petit Sud - last meal in Paris and wanted to pick a place close to the Eiffel Tower. The staff was really friendly even though it was hectic on a Saturday night. After being in Provence, it was tough to eat the food honestly. My duck confit was good but nothing special.

Some Notes -Ferme Auberge La Castelas - closed by the government, not sure on why [speculation] Could be taxes, hygiene supposedly.
Biggest regrets - couldn't make reservations at La Bartavelle :( & not eating at Le Bistrot du Paradou again!
