Hi, I've been busy planning dinners during Jazz Fest - Galatoire's, Flaming Torch, Brigsten's, so far. I'm thinking of cancelling Flaming Torch or Brigsten's (probably Flaming Torch) in order to make life easier and only have one dinner during the Fest located across town from our hotel - Richelieu in the FQ near FM. Since this is my husband's first visit, I'm looking for distinctively N.O. places re: cuisine - creole, cajun, Italian Creole, and innovations on those traditions. So for example, although Bayona sounds great, it's not for this trip. Also I'm looking for somewhat casual places - I feel that Galatoire's will exhaust his willingness to put on a suit jacket during this vacation. (i.e., one time but no more!) Any opinions, any recent dining experiences or feedback from friends re the following places?:
201 Restaurant and Bar
Peristyle (post-Ann Kearney)
K-Paul's (I've heard such diverse views on this place - for example, my friend thought it was great, his wife thought it was too salty to be edible!)
Any better suggestions? Thanks for the advice, in advance....
