Fox and Obel lunch update

Aaron D | Jun 20, 2002 10:25 AM

I went to lunch at Fox and Obel yesterday and am pleased to report that they have improved their already stellar offerings. Namely, their delicious sandwiches are now served with a pickle spear and a generous side of onion crisps. I had never seen these crisps before (I believe they are marketed as their signature crisps)--they seem to be a cross between a french fry and a potato chip made with onion instead of tomato--not breaded like onion rings. Also, the sandwich size has been increased considerably (at least the one sandwich that a dining companion received).

I know in an earlier thread, some people had complained of a perceived lack of value in F&O's sandwich offerings.

Additionally, they now offer pizza/tartes. Yesterday, I got caramelized fennel, sun-dried tomato, and Asiago on a flaky, tart-y pastry crust, that I certainly recommend trying. I don't recall the other variety they served.
