Football gameday in Athens, Ga

henry66 | Aug 24, 201107:10 AM

We love to come early, park downtown, and hang out in a pub to eat, drink and watch football until time to head to the stadium. But it seems that our favorite downtown pre-game hangout, Tavern at the Arch on Broad Street, has closed.
We will be coming for the South Carolina game Sep. 10 (4:30 p.,m.) kickoff. Can someone recommend a good spot with TVs, a good beer selection, and good food?
Copper Creek Brewing seems like it would fit the bill, but are they open at midday?
Ditto the Blind Pig, but it seems like a hike from downtown, and I don't know where we would park.
And apparently two of the best beer and food places, Trappeze and the Globe, don't have TVs.
