We nwere in the Playa Real at Barcelona , saw a queue outside a restaurant and joined it. People said they had queued the night before for over an hour, had not got in and had come back. Asking what the queue was for we were told it was a marvellous , good value restaurant. However people had heard this rather than experienced it. The restaurant was called Les Quinze Nitz. We got in and were underwhelmed. The service was surly, the first courses were sad and tired as if they had been prepared for several hours.
The fish main course was bland and uninspired. My sausage dish was too salty and the beans with it overcooked and tasteless.
We were too dispirited to try ourn usual favorite course of deserts.
I feel I want to warn fellow chowhounds not to join the queue. Has anyone had a good experience of this restaurant or was it just inspired publicity.
