I am a big fan of WF but have had recent experiences that bear passing on. Bought pork chops with bone and lamb chops with bone last week at WF on Wilshire in Santa Monica. Got home and notices that the label said: boneless pork and boneless lamb - both several $$ a pound more than with the bone. Phoned the meat dept to check on the prices and then traipsed back the next day with the meat and got a so so reception from the meat dept. However the Manager was another story - refunded the total price of the chops plus gave a $25 gift certificate for the trouble. Just watch that scale.
The near disaster at 6 am on Christmas morning was that the bag of chopped bread we bought to make stuffing was moldy (two days old). However closer examination showed that the buy date was Dec.13 - didn't think to check. Back at WF in Westwood, the desk said, oh the buy by date is just a number (what is mold then). Fortunately had more bread for the stuffing and had to kick in a pack of Mrs.Cubbisons.
