In the last week, I have bought three things at Whole Foods that I wouldn't have bought if I had carefully read the labels. They were:
* frozen spinach florentine ravioli in the plastic box, not the bag: in very small letters it said vegan which meant it had soy ricotta. I'm not a vegan and I hate fake cheese. The texture of the filling was strange and the taste, to me, was off.
* fresh salsa which was marked spicy but not very noticably, and obviously I didn't notice. Too hot for me!
* my husband bought prepared chocolate pudding which he said tasted not as good as usual. I checked the label, and it too was vegan made with almond milk. But the labeling was not obvious.
My point in writing this is to remind all of us - vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, etc. to check the product labels carefully to make sure you're getting what you want. You don't want to waste money at Whole Paycheck!
