New Food Sources?

Rochelle McCune | Sep 26, 200210:41 AM

So I have all my favorite places where I go to get my favorite foods or ingredients. But now, alas, I have just returned from France where I discovered a whole bunch of new favorite foods. I'm wondering if any of them are available here. I was planning to start looking for these new (to me) foods this weekend. Does anyone have a good resource for the following foods?

Cornichons - yes, Safeway sells Maille cornichons but they seem different (more bland, not as crisp).
Lardon - I've never even looked for it here.
Yogurt - holey, moley is the yogurt fabulous in France, does anyong out here make "European style" yogurt (i.e. actually tastes like a dairy product & not loaded with sugar)? And while I'm at it, where can I get Greek Yogurt?
Jambon - before this trip, I was not much of a ham eater. Now I need to know where to get the best ham in all its variations.
Pates - we had some amazing pates, does anyone have a favorite, locally available pate?

Oh, how about that great mustard dressing on all the salads -- anyone have a good recipe for that? I've tried to variations so far and haven't gotten it quite right yet.

That's all I can think of right now. Any help would be appreciated.
