My inexpensive but perfectly adequate Hamilton Beach Big Mouth (12 cup) food processor died last night. The interlock mechanism fell apart, literally 2 pieces of plastic on my island. Both my husband and I have reassembled the mechanism, but it does not function and will not remain in position but falls apart again when you unlock the bowl from the base.
So I am in the market for a food processor for a retired couple. I am not a full-on foodie, and the food processor is not my most-used tool, but it is indispensable for certain things I make, so needs to be replaced. I think I do not need the large capacity of this food processor, and I think I would use a food processor more if I had greater control over the shredding and slicing sizes. So, a medium sized Cuisinart, would you think?
